Overview
Territory Advisor is Repsly's AI-powered planning tool inside Repsly that helps managers and admins improve existing territory structures using the data they already have in the platform. It analyzes your territories, places, reps, and visit history to highlight issues such as workload imbalance, coverage gaps, overlap, and inefficient geography. It then suggests changes for you to review.
The core principle behind is: Territory Advisor recommends; you decide. No changes are ever applied to your territory data automatically. Every recommendation requires you to review it, choose what to accept, and manually import the changes into Repsly. This protects your data integrity and ensures an incorrect suggestion never disrupts your field operations.
The goal is simple: help you make better territory decisions faster, with less spreadsheet work and more visibility into what is actually happening in the field.
Who it is for
Territory managers
Sales and field operations leaders
Admins responsible for territory changes
Teams that review territory design on a recurring basis
What Territory Advisor analyzes
Coverage: Are your places being visited at the right frequency? Territory Advisor measures coverage against a default of one visit per place per month. If you've configured cadence rules in Repsly, those take priority over this default.
Travel efficiency: How much time are reps spending driving between stops? Territory Advisor flags territories where travel patterns suggest reps are covering more ground than necessary, and recommends restructuring that reduces distance.
Data hygiene: Are there places with bad addresses, missing data, or assignments that don't make geographic sense? These issues skew optimization results, so Territory Advisor surfaces them separately so you can clean them up first.
What it helps you do
See which territories are overloaded, underused, or hard to service
Identify coverage gaps and uneven rep workloads
Spot overlap, outliers, and questionable assignments on the map
Review recommendations to rebalance, split, merge, or add capacity
Export approved changes for use in your normal Repsly workflow
The workflow from analysis to applied changes
When Territory Advisor generates a recommendation, for example, splitting a territory into sub-regions or reassigning a set of places, here's how that flows through to your live data:
Open Territory Advisor and run an analysis of your current territories.
Review the territory health dashboard to find the biggest issues first.
Use the map and table to inspect specific territories, places, or reps.
Adjust planning settings if needed, such as capacity, cadence, or overlap preferences.
Generate recommendations and review them one by one.
Export only the changes you want to apply.
The manual import step is intentional. Nothing changes automatically. Managers stay in control of every decision, and recommendations must be reviewed before they are exported and applied.
What Territory Advisor is not
- It does not change your territories on its own - ever.
- It does not use POS data or form submission data for optimization. This is planned for a future release.
- It works best when you bring context. The AI analyzes your data, but knowing your team structure, growth plans, and operational priorities helps you interpret recommendations accurately.
What Territory Advisor does not do
It does not optimize a rep’s daily route or drive sequence.
It does not redesign a territory model from a blank map.
It does not fix poor source data for you.
It does not auto-apply territory changes.
What you need for good results
Existing territories already set up in Repsly
Reliable place geocoordinates
Accurate rep and territory assignments
Useful visit history, ideally at least three months
A manager or admin who can review recommendations in business context
Best results usually come when you start with one real business problem, such as an overloaded territory, poor coverage in one region, or too much travel in a cluster of territories.
