With our new Territory hierarchies, managers have more flexibility in creating Territories by adding multiple sub-territories for the back-office users as well as their field team. Reps and back-office users can be assigned to multiple territories and they can also be assigned to any level in the hierarchy.
1. To assign a back-office user to multiple Territories, simply open the back-office user profile and choose the Territories you want to assign them to. Open up a backoffice user's profile and under Restrict access to territories, a drop-down menu will appear from which you can choose your Territories. The root Territories will be automatically shown in the menu, and all Territories containing other sub territories will be marked with an arrow right next to them.
2. To choose your Territories simply check the box next to the Territory you want to assign. If you only choose to assign certain sub-territories, when you do that they will be marked with the checkbox, and the Territory it derives from will be marked with a line.
That means that this user can see the root territory and the sub-territory the assigned territory comes from, but not the Territories they're not explicitly assigned to.
The basic principle is the same as with the back-office users. Open the representative user profile and under Territory choose the Territories you want to assign them to. The root Territories will be automatically shown in the menu, and all Territories containing other sub territories will be marked with an arrow right next to them. You can also type in the desired territory in the text box field on the top of the menu with the magnifying glass.
Keep in mind that, unlike the backoffice users, your representatives can only be assigned to leaf territories, or, in other words, the lowest territories in the hierarchy.
If a rep adds a new place from the mobile app, in case of multiple territories, the rep can decide to which territory the new place belongs to.
The representative of backoffice user in question will be able to see only the Places in the territories assigned to them.
